Origin

Kampot pepper is grown in Kampot Province, located in the far south of Cambodia in Southeast Asia.

This region’s coastal climate and geological conditions allow local farmers to produce pepper of the highest quality in the world. It is no coincidence that this pepper has been awarded protected geographical indication status, much like French champagne.
We buy pepper from small family farms on direct trade terms, ensuring fair compensation for every grower, and strive to promote this approach among other traders as well.
By buying from us, you get not only pepper of the highest quality, but also the assurance that you are purchasing a sustainable and ethically responsible product that helps provide its producers with medical care and education for their children.

Characteristics

Rare red pepper is an explosion of fruity notes with a milder heat.

At first, notes of rose and rosehip take center stage, followed by dried cherries. After two to three minutes, more characteristic Kampot pepper aromas begin to develop, including citrus fruits, dried mandarins and the earthier crust of sourdough bread.

Processing

Red pepper is harvested from fully ripe peppercorns.

They ripen to a deep red color and are rich in fructose, which gives this type of pepper its unique taste.

Carefully selected to meet the strict quality requirements for pepper exported from Kampot, set by the Kampot Pepper Association, only the finest peppercorns are picked by hand. They are then vacuum-sealed to preserve their quality and freshness on the journey to the Czech Republic, where they are further sorted, packed and delivered straight to your table.

Uses

Different types of pepper suit different purposes due to their distinct tastes, aromas and heat. With its fruity character, red pepper is the king of cold cuisine.

It is perfect for vegetable salads and pairs beautifully with risotto and soups. Don't be afraid to experiment with it in sweet desserts or cocktails. Rather than pairing it with red meat, try it with fish or light poultry. The more finely you crush Kampot pepper, the more intense its heat; larger pieces or whole peppercorns, on the other hand, add more of pepper's distinctive notes to a dish.

Packaging

The materials used and special sealing technology keep air and moisture away from the pepper.

As a result, the peppercorns retain the authentic taste and aroma of Kampot pepper even after the pouch has been opened. Once empty, the pouches can also be upcycled as part of a more sustainable approach and reused in many different ways. We pack our pepper in resealable pouches in sizes ranging from 20 to 1,000 grams. Each package also includes a booklet telling the story of the world's finest pepper and introducing you to the world of .pepper..field.

Awards

Quality comes first for us, as confirmed not only by the certificates our pepper carries, but also by the awards it wins at international competitions.

Among the most notable is the award our pepper received at the Great Taste competition, one of the most prestigious events in the world of gastronomy.

Sustainability is also important to us, and we don't see it as just empty words, as demonstrated by the SDG Award presented to genuinely sustainable and socially responsible projects.
