Origin

Kampot pepper is grown in Kampot province, located in the very south of East Asian Cambodia.

This is an area whose maritime climate and geological conditions allow local farmers to produce the highest quality pepper in the world. It is no coincidence that this pepper has been granted a protected geographical indication, similar to French champagne.
We purchase pepper from small family farms under direct trade conditions that guarantee a fair reward for each grower, and we try to promote this approach among other traders.
Thanks to this, by purchasing from us, you will not only get the highest quality pepper, but also the certainty that you are buying a sustainable and morally responsible product that will help ensure its producers have medical care and education for their children .

Characteristics

When ground, black pepper releases notes of eucalyptus, camphor and thyme, accompanied by the scent of lime peel.

These gradually flow into a seaside aroma with developing fruity notes . The dominant aroma is peach and nectarine , accompanied by the scent of pine and the earthy tones of the Cambodian mountain soil full of minerals.

Processing

In the case of black pepper, the grains are harvested when the peppercorns are still green.

They are then dried in the fierce Cambodian sun , where they acquire their characteristic black color and crusty surface.

Thanks to careful selection that meets the strict quality requirements for pepper exported from Kampot , set by the Kampot Pepper Association, only the best grains are hand-picked. They are then vacuum-packed to preserve quality and freshness during the journey to the Czech Republic, where they are further selected, packaged and delivered to your table.

Use

Due to their different taste, aroma and pungency, different types of pepper are suitable for different purposes. Black pepper is a universal spice that will not be lost in almost any dish.

However, it is ideal to pair with dark red meat. It will enhance any steak on the grill or in a pan, but it can also be used in classic sauces, soups and goes well with pasta. The finer you grind the Kampot pepper, the more intense the pungency will be , while larger fragments or whole grains will lend the dish more specific pepper notes.

Packaging

Thanks to the materials used and the special bag sealing technology, no air or moisture reaches the pepper.

This means that the grains retain the authentic taste and aroma of Kampot pepper even after opening the bag. In addition, once empty, you can upcycle the bags for sustainability and continue to use them in a variety of other ways. We pack the pepper in resealable bags ranging from 20 to 1000 grams. Each package also includes a brochure that tells the story of the best pepper in the world and introduces you to the world of .pepper..field.

Valuation

Quality comes first for us, as confirmed not only by the certificates our pepper holds, but also by the awards it receives from world competitions.

Among the most significant are the awards given to our pepper in the Great Taste competition, one of the most prestigious competitions in the world of gastronomy.

However, sustainability is also important to us, and we do not see it as just empty words, as evidenced by the SDG's award given to truly sustainable and socially responsible projects.
