Origin

Kampot pepper is grown in Kampot Province, located in the far south of Cambodia in Southeast Asia.

Thanks to its coastal climate and geological conditions, this region enables local farmers to produce pepper of the highest quality in the world. It is no coincidence that this pepper has been granted protected geographical indication status, much like French champagne.
We buy pepper from small family farms under direct trade terms that guarantee fair compensation for every grower, and we strive to promote this approach among other traders as well.
By buying from us, you get not only the highest-quality pepper, but also the assurance that you are purchasing a sustainable and ethically responsible product that helps provide its producers with medical care and education for their children.

Characteristics

Fermented green pepper offers the flavor of fresh green peppercorns with delicate finesse.

Thanks to its subtlety, it could almost be called Cambodian caviar, with fresh, delicate notes and a salty taste, making it especially suitable for seasoning.

Processing

Fermented Kampot pepper contains fresh green peppercorns processed in Cambodia using an ancient Japanese fermentation method.

A pinch of fleur de sel, obtained by evaporating seawater, is added to the pickled peppercorns to preserve their absolute freshness. Thanks to this process, they retain the flavor of tender green pepper freshly picked from the pepper vine—a quality also praised by the president of the association that oversees the quality of pepper exported from Cambodia.

Through careful selection in line with the strict quality requirements for pepper exported from Kampot, set by the Kampot Pepper Promotion Association, only the very best peppercorns are hand-picked. They are then vacuum-packed to preserve their quality and freshness on the journey to the Czech Republic, where they are further selected, packaged, and delivered right to your table.

Uses

Vegetarian food lovers will especially appreciate the delicacy of fermented green pepper.

It is not suitable for pairing with meat; instead, add it to salads or spreads, or try it with avocado. It makes a great finishing touch for creamy soups and gently enhances the flavor of risotto and shrimp. You can also use it to make perfect sandwiches or toast.

This pepper should not be ground, as it may clog the grinding mechanism.

Packaging

The materials used and special bag-sealing technology prevent air and moisture from reaching the pepper.

Immediately after fermentation, we pack the pepper into vacuum bags in quantities of 40 to 100 grams. This allows the peppercorns to retain the authentic flavor, freshness, and aroma of Kampot pepper after the bag is opened. Each package also includes a brochure introducing you to the story of the world’s finest pepper and the world of .pepper..field.

Awards

Quality comes first for us, as confirmed not only by the certificates our pepper has earned, but also by the awards it has won in international competitions.

Among the most significant is the award our pepper received at the Great Taste competition, one of the most prestigious events in the culinary world.

Sustainability is also important to us, and we see it as more than just an empty promise—as demonstrated by the SDG’s award, presented to truly sustainable and socially responsible projects.
